Arizona Herping --- HELP!

BloodManDan Nov 17, 2004 09:44 PM

My name is Dan, and I am a zoology student in Illinois specializing in herpetology. I am going to be visiting the Phoenix/Scottsdale areas in March or April. I know many people do not like to give out there "secret" snake spots, but I would like to photograph some snakes in the wild for my classes. Does anybody have any suggestions or helpful information?

Thanks to all.

Dan

Dan,
I live in Oregon so cannot help. Perhaps if you make the same appeal on the Fieldherpers forum you might get a response. I believe there also is an AZ herp forum site you might try and locate.

There is a symposium dedicated to sonoran desert research
on the weekend of April 17th 2005 in Ahwatukee AZ.
Just south of Phoenix on the south side of South mountain.
Anyone and everyone involved with field projects, research and
published info will be there.
Many serious fieldherpers also attend.

As far as fieldherping AZ............... a good map of the area along with your basic instincts and techniques are all you need.
