Need a care sheet ..

amazinglyricist Nov 18, 2004 12:12 AM

I know I should look on the web, but I have and can't seem to fins a care sheet on these, and I only have about a day and a half to get the sheet ready, one of my friends kids found a Desmognathus fuscus or northern dusky salamander a few days ago, and there's no option but to keep it at least for hte winter since it's much too cold now to release it. I know what they eat, just need info on habitat and temperatures and humidity so I can get him set up tommorrow. I assume a standard damp mossy terrerium will work as long as it has a hiding place, but if I'm wrong I need to know. Thanks in advance for any help.

If the ground hasn't frozen and the air temperature is above 45 F the salamander can be released. Check the caudata culture links from caudata.org under species accounts.
