Feeding???

Covenant Jun 30, 2003 09:57 PM

Hello again. Also. The Columbian Boa's I got this past weekend were born a week and a half ago. They've already shed for the first time and I fed them both a small mouse. Now because their so young how often should I feed them? I never knew boa's were born so big. But my friends boa just had a ton of babies. Their probably as big around as my thumb and about a foot or a little more long. Thanks for any advice.

I typically feed neonates one prey item once every 7-10 days for the first year, moving it out to 10-14 days in their second year. I get good growth on that schedule with the snakes having good body weight & muscle tone but not becoming obese.
