"You put them in the freezer, and in a few days they'll be dead," said the expert.

Is there anyone in Boca Grande who can SHAKE THESE MORONS?? Even shooting them is better, freezing is very painful and slow!

Freezing is an awful way to handle the problem.

If I can swing it, I'm going to take a trip to Boca Grande in the next week or two. It's about a hundred miles from where I live, so I can do it as a day trip. I may have a market for an article about the iguanas, which would pay for the trip.

And it would make a nice field trip for my 15yo home school daughter.

If I make the trip, I'll post what I find out.

i wouldnt mind going to check it out. this guy has no clue what he's talking about though: "They're aggressive, they have spines on their tail," explained Scott Trebatoski, Director of Lee's Animal Services." more often than not theyll run away. i live in miami and they are everywhere but these things dont stay a fight they run quick! ive yet to see a gopher tortoise and it leads me to believe they are a ground dwelling species thus not sharing the same food source as iguanas who spend most of their time up in the trees. heres the deal the iguanas cant be gotten rid of. theres to many and the cost of getting rid of them would get into the tens of thousands of dollars!
