Scarlet king and cats

buddygrout Nov 18, 2004 08:56 AM

A teacher at my school brought me a scarlet king in a jar. He said his cat was playing with it. He told me it was dead, but when I looked at it I saw movement. I got excited because it was a beautiful specimem. Alas when I examined it closely it had three different sections eaten to the spine only the first 3 inches was undamaged. The front was active but the back looked broken. He said his cat did it but I suspect some kind of garden instrument was involved. I told him thank You but try to bring the next one undamaged. I did what any self respecting science teacher would do. I showed it to my students then fed it to my little WC eastern king. Unfortunately my camera was at home.

Buddy, I used to try to hide my hobby but now I let all my neighbors know and because of that they no longer bring me dead snakes but live ones including coral, pigmy rattler, grey rat, scarlet, southern hog, and juvenile racers.
BTW, I have one of my CBB scarlet kings from this summer on pinks, hand fed. It is even totally hand tame...
also, what ever happened to that other milksnake/kingsnake forum we used to post on? my link hasnt worked for it in months...is it back up? do you have a link to it? Thanks, Norm

I try to tell people to call me when they see a snake before they chop it up. Some people are so anti snake talking soes no good. The other site is still working they changed format recently. Buddy.

I love the scarlets you breed. I was looking into them few months ago but read they are the most secretive of the kings and hide the vast majority of the time.
Great loking tho.
Lia
