odd little stripe

geckoville May 15, 2003 01:16 PM

This guy just hatched a couple of hours ago. When I saw him I had to double check the tape identifying who laid him because I couldn't believe it. Apparently higher incubation temps do cause a lack of melanine as shown here with this male. I have other babies that have hatched from the same female that are striped from the neck all the way down the tail.

That's very interesting. I suppose if you wish to incubate for male and keep the stripe, you'll have to go 2 weeks then turn it down.

That's a curious little beast, isn't it? Very cool

part should be when he starts to shed. We'll see just how many spots stay with him as he grows. Never know, he may just be a keeper.
