sperm plugs

varanus69 Nov 18, 2004 12:05 PM

can someone please post a pic of a sperm plug? i have a bp that is larger than the average male has almost no spurs (like a feamle) and probes to a depth of seven scales.I've heard of bp's probing 7 scales going either way as far as sex, and the tail is very short.

Sorry...I dont have a picture of any sperm plugs, but you'll know them when you see them. As far as your comment about "almost no spurs (like a female)"....I'm not sure about that one. SPurs seem to be quite variable in BPs, and all of my females have prominant spurs. In fact, some of the largest, most impressive spurs I have ever seen on a snake belong to a large female I have...I swear, they are about 3.5 mm long and thick. Also, breeder males tend to "wear down" or even break off the tips of their spurs. Not saying that yours is definitely a male, but it certainly could be.....
