shedding

debs1018 Nov 18, 2004 12:41 PM

Well Buddy started to shed his face and then it stopped after his mouth. Now I am seeing a white line down his spine and on his feet/legs it is turning white. Is this shedding and if so should I soak him. I only have had him since June. Our iguana sheds with no problems so I am at a loss. Suggestions are very much welcomed.
Thanks
Debs

uros peel in sections, so it takes forever. helga has been peeling now since like september, granted she had a lot of old skin to get rid of but she still is not even close to being finished.
i would say you could give him a soak especially since his feet are getting ready to peel. "just make sure all the skin comes off his toes" helga, my toeless uro, told me to remind you
(just be sure his tail is dried afterwards)

Yup, they take forever to do a whole body shed.

I would also like to say that that is one of the greatest pictures EVER! Buddy AND his friend look so cute! No fear of reptiles for that little girl!

Thank you everyone. I guess I will have to look at a funny peeling uro. Yes, my daughter loves EVERY animal around. Buddy will let us hold him for a few minutes and then he wants to run around.
