john you're in san diego aren't you? how are you keeping your chameleons warm enough at night? i'd like to take my new guy out for an hour or two but if it would be better to do a couple days at a time i may buy or build something. i think my night time lows outside are 70-75. in the house his enclosure is about 75-80.

Dennis-

Yes I am in San Diego. I keep a close eye on the low temps for each day and week I have a wireless digital temp/humidity gauge and use the internet to check the weather for the week to see if I need to watch the temps on any given day. I will keep them outside overnight when the temps are above 60F at night. During the day things heat up, and my set up is made so that there is always a sunny spot and shady spot in the cage at any given time. The key is to have sun in the morning to warm them up. I would not keep baby pardalis outside overnight unless the temps are higher like in the 70F at night. As long as they are healthy there should not be a problem. 70-75 low night temps are fine to house your chameleon outside in. If you have wild animals that may try and eat your chameleon, make sure they can't get in the cage to do so. Hope this helps!
