I got this one a while back and its great, my wife is an environmental engineer and took it in to her office and it was dead on with her very expensive scales....

Wow! Those are very reasonably priced.

they generally only run an additional $5 over the 3000 gram models......

I got the 6000 gram unit from them. I am very pleased with it. I paid $25.50 with shipping. It arrived brand new, in the box, still wrapped in plastic. I got it from the same place as listed above, garage sales USA. They were friendly, and shipped the same day. I highly reccommend it. The only problem is it is kinda small. But, if you use the hold button, you can remove the box you place your animals in and see the weight easily. I like it because it has 1 gram incriments, which is nice since we also breed beardies. Just my $.02

What you may want to get is an "additive" digital kitchen scale. They're great because you can clear the scale with an object already on it.

With an additive scale you place an object on the scale, such as a box to hold your snake, and then zero out the scale (press a button). Next, place your snake in the box and you will get only his weight. Now zero it again and drop in a nice mouse or rat. Guess what? Now you know exactly how many grams his meal is too. They're very handy. I bought mine, a German made Soehnle Vera, from Amazon.com for $57.00 and free shipping.

Cheers,
Jason

I just bought the best one I've seen from ebay. It's a baby scale plus a vet pet scale, it's digital and weighs weights up to 44lb. Will do one weight and then the other weight with the pet one the scale. It will subtract the weight of the item that the pet or snake is in. Best thing I've seen.

What brand/model? Cost? Photo?
