Feeding troubles?

jakethesnake Nov 19, 2004 01:49 PM

I have two baby alligators, they were feeding well up until the weather changed and got cooler. Do they shut down during winter? Got any suggestions on getting them to eat?

Crocodilians typically stop feeding once it reaches a little below the mid 70's. How warm are you keeping them? If they are in too cool of a spot, I would recommend warming them up. Keep their water warmer as well. This will in the long run keep them healthier as well. Good luck with the gators.
