Golden Corn snake - Outdoor pics

BlueKing Nov 20, 2004 10:11 AM

Took these earlier today in my front yard. Hope this will illustrate the true color of this animal. No photo shop tricks. No flash was used - only sun light and partly to cloudy conditions!

3.5 foot female WC. corn from Cumberland county, NC.

Here's another outdoor pic of her with cloudy conditions in the shade. No photo shop and no flash was used. Just good ol' daylight!

I know some people would say the "dirty" gray isn't attractive, but I love it, especially with the yellow rather than red/orange.

Thanks! You just gave me a thought. . .I know how nice mandarin rats are. . . Would be cool to intensify the yellow and lighten the gray (keep the rich black of course) to an extent where the corn would be a mimmick of the mandarin rat. . .Would take a few breedings obviously, but just a thought. . .

She looks like a caramel but with higher colours. Like in leopard geckos and ball pythons, people have different 'phases' such as high gold, high yellow etc... Maybe a caramel with a punch, hypo xanthism?

Like everyone else I love that snake.
It is incredible.
I know you had a few people who didn't want to believe it was real but I don't see how anyone could doubt it after all of the photos you have shown..
Now, the gentics behind it....that will be interesting to see.
You must (there is no choice here...lol) keep us updated in the spring on her breeding.
good luck

That is an awesome snake!!

Reminds me of gold-and-platinum jewelry, or one of those broaches with the 3 colors of gold/metals. I don't care much for jewelry, but the live gold and silvery-gray on this snake are something else.

Okay, now I'm ready for my 2nd snake. I want one just like HER!
