Im Confused...

MultipleMorphHerps Nov 20, 2004 01:49 PM

I went looking throught the iguna photos in the photo gallery and most of the enclosures aren't sealed. They look like regular pine just like mine but and the iguanas look fine. I'm not going to lie but I've had two iguanas in the cage I have now, one died young and the other isn't looking as good as when I firts got him. I have zoo med bulbs constant temp of 90-95 in the basking area and he still doesn't look to be coming around. I also feed him a calcium rich diet of collards and such greens along with a variety of other foods. I am hoping this larger and sealed cage will do the job if not then....I don't know.

This forum doesn't get the traffic that it used to.

Have you had a check for worms?

MultipleMorphHerps Nov 21, 2004 07:27 PM

No but I am going to start him on parazap soon and will be building him a larger cage. Also I find he that he sneezes once and a while like once every 5 min maybe....

Do you notice any mucus when he sneezes? Is his throat area "puffy"? Does he have watery eyes that are not all of the way open? If so, he could a respiratory infection and you should take him to the vet immediately! If you notice these symptoms start keeping him at a higher than normal ambient temperature(just a few degress above normal mind you), and it sometimes helps to have high humidity. For the possible parasites, take a fecal sample into the vet and you can have them check for about $10 for parasites(worms, protozoans, etc.). You shouldn't give medicine if you are not sure of an infestation. Josh

The only thing I notice is that he sneezes once every five min. or so and there is not mucus but a little salty water. His throat, eyes, and etc... Parazap is a natural blend of herbal parasite removers and boosts up their appitite. Its not a medicatoin.
