How do I Mount Branches?

CultureJammer Nov 20, 2004 04:38 PM

Well, I've got a few branches in my basilisks' enclosure which are proped up on the glass and anchored by a heavy rock. This works great with the lightweight lizards. My problem is that I have a Carpet Python and a Ball Python that love to climb, but always knock over their sticks, no matter how tightly wedged they are or how heavy of a rock I use. I have also tried super glue, but it does not seem to do anything with the wood. I have seen really nice sticks mounted in Emerald Boa enclosures, but not sure how they do it. Does anyone have any tips or tricks as to how this is done? The info would be greatly appreciated ^^

i use great stuff foam to mount my branches.. i laid the cage on its back filled in the back with foam and then proped the branches in before it dried, they hold pretty well.

also, i have seen a pic of a cage someone made on here (forgot who) but they used the things used in closets to hold up the hanger bar, i have no idea what they are called so we will go with "doohickey"

In a glass aquarium i would use silicone. If the cage is wood I would use eyes and hooks. Screw the eye into the side of the cage and screw a hook into the end of the branch. Clint
