How many mealworms......

Nicko Jul 01, 2003 12:39 AM

should I feed my two month old leo at a time? She's still pretty much just eating what I drop in front of her, but sometimes she'll just keep eating and eating. Will she stop when she's had enough? Or will she just keep eating as long as I drop them in front of her?

leave like 15 mealies in a bowl and let her eat them. if she eats all of them, put in more, let her eat as much as she needs.

I've tried keeping mealworms in their at all times, but eventually the stop moving and squirming. She won't eat them if they aren't moving right?

When leos are full they usually stop eating on their own. Sometimes they look like they can eat forever, but they will eventually stop.

I keep a dish of mealworms in their enclosures/shoe boxes at all times so that food is always available, even if I only feed them crickets every other or every 2 days, they'll always have mealworms.

I also keep a small juice cap full of gut-load in their enclosure/shoe box. Thats for the crickets to munch on and not the gecko in case all the crickets aren't eaten up. They'll eventually get eaten when the gecko is hungry, but this way it keeps the crickets gut-loaded and not bothering the gecko.

I only have 1 gecko and she is 2 1/2 months old. I feed her everyday, I drop in 6 dusted crickets( about 1/2 inch long) and 5 mealworms. She gobbles everything up and looks as if to say thats it? She has a very fat tail to say the least LOL .
I haven't gotten her to eat from a bowl but no big deal because I actually enjoy feeding her and watching her eat.Try the bowl and if you get your sweetie to eat from one let me know how you did it.Anyways enjoy the fact the you have a gecko with a GOOD appetite!!!!
