Corucia sexing help(C/A Biometric ratio fun!!!)

jrbl Nov 21, 2004 12:42 AM

Hi,
I currently have a sexed pair of PTS and am just seeing what is currently on the market for a possible third. I am not for sure getting one at this time, but I am looking. There is a CB two month old for sale in the classifieds, and as it is very young, it is not able to be sexed. Also it is a PTS, so it is difficult to sex anyway. As I already have a male, I would prefer to not get another male at this time. I have a picture of the animal in question and I used the C/A Biometric ratio on the photo. The result was about .67, a female. However, as it is young, I may have not measured correctly, and the biometric ratio is no a sure fire sexing technique, I am not so sure it is a female. I wanted to see if others with experience with the C/A Biometric ratio would help me out. I will try to attach a photo, or I can email the photo, and then you can see what you get. THanks a bunch, Josh

Greetings,

If the picture shown is the Corucia in question, Your C/A measurement of .67 (I get .65 off the pic) shows the C/A Biometric ratio is a good indictator in that the Corucia in the picture is almost certainly a female based on the small, narrow head and the midsection which tends to appear that this girl is gravid.

Any other C/A need pics you wish to post-feel free to do so.

Hope this helps,
Tane
