to me, he looks like a very beautiful normal pastel. i would be breeding him to as many females as possible. but he does not look to be a blond. i would be very happy to have him in my collection. you know, you are prob. going to get a lot of different responses. but he is nice !

I've asked a lot of breeders this question and had mixed responses. My opinion is that the Blonde label and Lemon label are in the gray area of pastels. I bought a Nerd line Blonde Pastel poss. het albino for $1500 about about 5 months ago. It is a very nice pastel and I love her but I have seen normal pastels that come out just as nice. I didn't buy her because she was labeled as blonde. Just liked her blushing and color. I see it advertised on very reputable breeders websites but I am not sold on it. Which would I rather have a great normal pastel or an average Lemon? I think you know the answer to that. Either way you have a great pastel and he is bound to throw some great pastels and unbeleivable supers. Goodluck

Here is a pic of a normal pastel.

which is intended to spark the idea that there may be no such thing as a "normal" anything.

Just An Idea,
Chris

labeled by what they look like.

a Blonde pastel is a specific line. A lemon pastel is a certain line. Etc

Yes, both Blonde and Lemon Pastels are specific lines ... and they both tend to hold their color for longer as the snakes get older, however I've seen some really nice "normal" Pastels from other lines which IMO match the Blonde and Lemon Pastels. Also bear in mind there are several WC Pastels entering the market every year bringing new blood and genes so there is the possibility of buying a new line Pastel which is as brighter as a Lemon or Blonde but not sold as one.
A good example of a great new Pastel line are the Enchi Pastels from Europe ... I think Peter Kuhl is working with them as well, they are awesome and of course there are the "StoneWashed" Pastels which Stan Ruppel bred again very different and nice ...but at the end of the day, they are all Pastels ...and it comes down to marketing and what people are willing to pay.

Cheers, John
