waldo Nov 21, 2004 12:50 AM

I have a 4 ft glass aquarium for a ball cage.I have one week to set it up for the big arrival.Any ideas?? I would like it to be a habitat,not just a cage.I will be using newspaper for substrate for awhile then I will switch to shredded bark/coco fiber bedding or cypress mulch.I want climbing branches and lots of hides,Oh God,I'm ramblingI'm very excited about this set up forgive me:P I would appriciate any pictures of your set ups.Thanks from the crazy lady

If you plan to only have this one BP as a pet and want it to look pretty I would go with the natural subtrate and climbing sticks. Just watch the humidity. Its more difficult to keep the humidity in aquariums. I found puttting a damp towel over most of the top to keep humidity well. just a pain in the a$$ to keep it wet also takes away from the physical look of the setup.
What I would do: If you are planning on having more or even thinking about it I would invest in a rack system. For about $250, I think its what it is going for, Jason's Jungles has a great rack that will save you money in the long run. Beleive me, a lot of money!
I did the same thing you are doing now and now have 5 aquariums (some big and some small) that I never use. Really look into it. The racks are great and you never have to worry about the temps if you get a thermostat, keeps humidity and great for breeding if that is down the road for you. Either way sounds like you are going to have an early christmas this year. Good luck.

I have the same Jason's Jungle Rack, and I absolutely LOVE it! =)

In fact, I want to buy another...I'm just waiting on Jason to decide he wants to respond to the e-mail I sent him over a month ago. LOL

Chris =)

I was supposed to do business with him for another rack and possibly some snakes and he hasn'r e-mailed me back. I live an hour from his home show and its next weekend so I'll see him there.

Thats how long i am betting it will be until you buy another one.LOL

Until then...you can cover the top of the tank(most,not all),like we all did during "that time".Two large water bowls really helps as well.
If he/she ever ignores her food ..then just add some additional(snug)hides.

So,got a name in mind ?
