Ok, here's a good newbie question, driving me nuts!

In people's signatures, they list the animals they currently own, many times they put number such as, 1.1, 0.1, 2.1.1, etc and then the species (mostly the real/scientific name). What are the numbers???

thanx!!!

the numbers in their sig lines refer to the sex of their animals, 1.1.1 means 1 male, 1 feamal, and 1 unsexed, so a 2,1 would meen 2 males and 1 female

For example, check my signature. Two female chickens, two female dogs, one female horse, one pair of parents male and female, and zero reptiles. Odd balance there, but that's how it went.
Crazily enough, it's easier for herpers, especially breeders than writing male and female over and over. Once you get used to it, that is...
Have no idea how the whole thing started though...
