Have you read these two pages yet: http://www.kingsnake.com/pituophis/p_ruthveni.html AND http://www.kingsnake.com/pituophis/p_m_mugitus.html . Photos can be found on these two pages: http://www.kingsnake.com/pituophis/gallery_florida.htm AND http://www.kingsnake.com/pituophis/gallery_ruthveni.htm . That should give you a better idea than just a short answer in a forum post. Good Luck.

Here is a list of the people that I know have only pure ruthveni that they are trying to breed this year in this hobby: Bob Fengya (I haven't heard if he has any eggs this year, Terry Vandeventer (Ditto, but I think he wants to keep back some if he does produce any this year), Eric Richter (I don't think he produced any this year), John Ginter (I think he mentioned that he has eggs already), Daryl Camby and myself (waiting on eggs from a couple of females, but we probably won't sell many, if any, this year), plus some others that have probably slipped my mind temporarily!

LA pines and bullsnakes? If you mean strictly physical similarities, I don't even know why Ruthveni is called a pine. It looks like a bull. Personally, I think they are one of the most unnatractive pituophis too. And deppei deppei and deppei jani should be considered gophers. Just my opinion.

Thanks to all that replied. This definitely helps.
The reason I was asking is a person was referring to a certian snake as a Soutehrn Pine and not a Bull. It was spur of the moment and instead of taking the time to research I threw the question on here.
Thanks,
Gilbert
