Are the laser ones really any better? All I would use it for are my snakes. Are they worth the extra money? Once you have a temp gun there's no going back.
Thanks.

I have never used the "non" laser type but I am extremely satisfied with the laser one I have. The laser enables you to take temps from farther distances away and know exactly what you are checking. There aren't many instances where that is needed but it has come in handy. I found mine on Ebay a few years back and saved a little money. If yoo have cats or lizards they make great play toys too. Both my cats and lizards will chase it around endlessly. Pretty entertaining to see a bearded dragon working its tongue overtime to try and eat a laser dot.

I ordered a PE-2 today. You are right about the cats liking to chase the dot. My dogs love it too. I have a laser pointer I use for that, but I never thought about that with the laser sighted option on the temp gun. Now I'll have a back-up toy too!
