Two Headed Two Tailed ciliatus with 6 Arms

Ike420 Nov 21, 2004 05:46 PM

I just pulled a fully formed stillborn gecko from an egg that seems to be two geckos joined at the spine.

This gecko has two heads, four front legs two hind limbs and two tails with the same coloration and patterning throughout. Ill get some pictures up as soon as i can. The baby has been named squishy/sasquatch and was placed in formalin preservative soon after it was removed from its egg.

Oh by the way what is your affection for the # 420 Ike, hmmmm? I wonder? He he he

Here's a picture I just took of my deformed baby.

The 420 is actually my birthdate backwards (10/24) and was the suffix of my randomly generated AOL screenname.

Talk about two perfectly good red flame cresties down the tube...
Let me know if you want to see the heads

oh wow that's very interesting... i've never seen it before! i wonder what it'd look like to take care of them and have them eat their own share of crickets.

Well only one head (squishy) has a bottom jaw...the other (sasquatch) has a mouth that looks like a suction cup. Hence, i can guess which head would outcompete the other. Have a look for yourself

THATS WILD!!!!! I personally would LOVE to have a two headed crested, Its just something different! That would have been sweet if it would have survived! Keep breeding the father and mother together and see if you can have a live one born! THANKS ERIk

the very first sucker type crested gecko. sucks baby food rather than lapping it with it's tongue. those are very interesting. put up some more pictures if you would.

wow, that was unbelievable. when i first read the topic subject, i was thinking it was another joke someone made by mirror-imaging a picture. unique! it leads me to wonder, though, have you ever experienced any other deformed babies? i wonder if some chemical might have been to blame? you really got one in a million there. now we'll hold our breath and wait for someone to raise a live one!

The baby was incubated along with my other geckos...all of which seem fine and normal.

I have only ever seen one two headed gecko...i think i have the picture laying around on my comp but don't know who to give credit to. This baby appears to have the same color morph on both halves, but it's hard to tell from the picture.

Best

I dug up this picture of another double headed crested...This one has a single tail and four arms. I don't know who to give credit to for this photo.
