Yay! New leo! Can you tell what morph she is?

duckofdomination Nov 21, 2004 06:04 PM

I got her at a show (the new york metro reptile expo) for $35 dollars. I think she is puuuurdy...but I have no Idea what morph she is:

I also bought some sand blasted grape vine, Some cricket gut load cubes, Wax worms, Meal worms, A book and a thousand crickets. I used to only keep about 30 crickets at a time but that was alot of money. Here is a picture of my new cricket cage with 1000 crickets in it (water bottle shown for comparison):

And one of the inside (just a little bit of the inside):

Thanks!

Sorry, no help on the morph, but she's really pretty =)
I was going to go to the show today, was it any good? (I couldn't bring myself to make the drive after getting up around noon & seeing the weather here... I may regret it once you tell me how good it was tho ...
Anyway, Nice gecko. Hope she turns out to be a great little girl =)

The show was pretty good, But there were a ton of people jam packed into a pretty small space, not to mention all of the heat bulbs so it was BOILING down there...But I was happy with what I got. And any help on the morph would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

If I had to guess I would say maybe an abberant normal...

xelda Nov 21, 2004 09:52 PM

She's an aberrant high yellow. Aberrancy refers to the abnormal patterning on her body; since her tail looks normal, she's not considered a jungle. High yellow refers to her color. Judging by the picture quality, it looks like some of her real colors got washed out.

Very nice leo though. I'm willing to bet that if you bred her, she would throw some nicely patterned babies, including partial stripes. She almost has a stripe herself, except for those little dots in the middle.

I'm glad to hear you had fun at the show.

...since your picture doesn't show her entire body including the tail. The tail is what makes the difference between aberrant and jungle.

This one has a normal tail, so the leo is aberrant, not jungle.

This is a good example of a jungle tail. Notice how all the rings on the tail are broken up because of the patterning.

that is a jungle phase and i believe you baught it from me. its definatlty not normal what you cant see is the pattern on the tail indicating that is jungle. good luck with her....kirk
