Sterilizing Wood...Options?

CJBianco Nov 21, 2004 06:55 PM

I've got two wood/bark Habba Hut-looking hides that I've used for my tortoises. Since I no longer keep torts, I figured I'd offer them to my Ball Pythons...(particularly Katrina, who needs some sort of change to inspire her to eat)...but I want to sterilize them first. What are the best ways to do this?

I've heard a bleach/water combo works well, but I don't know the mixture recipe. I've also heard baking, but do not know what temps or how long to bake in my oven.

I'd prefer baking...no harmful chemicals.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Chris
