Rats or mice? Which is better?

sutmae Jul 01, 2003 05:30 AM

I`m using FT mice for my corn snake and FT rats for my royal, but my royal will happily take mice whenever I offer them to him. Are rats and more nutricious than mice, or can I use mice as a staple food for my royal too? This would make easier(and cheaper) for me. Obviously I would have to give it more mice than rats but is it possible to switch to mice altogether?

Thanks...
Sutmae

In general, I feed whichever the ball will take more readily. But, I have several bp's who are strictly mouse eaters, and they do just fine. Just be sure to give him enough mice if you switch over.

Go to the Feeder Forum, and look at the last 100 topics, at LEAST 10 of them on on that very topic. This is a forum for BP's not for feeders.

but if you read the post you would have noticed that the snake in question was in fact a BP. So please excuse my ignorance for thinking that when I want some advice on caring for my BP the best place to ask for it is on a BP forum.
