Wow is she ever beautiful.I can't wait until mine gets bigger.I wasn't originally going to breed.I had thought my Durango was a female well....apprently not.They are both exactly the same size.I put them together and then I grabbed The albino really quick.He lunged at The durango.So then I checked and it looks like the durango is male too....So Now I am thinking why not breed them.I'll get a female albino and a female durango and breed both.Now my question is can you put the male and female together or will I get this same reaction???

Best to keep Kings seperate, except when breeding. Some people keep them together without a problem, but why risk it? Many others have kept two together, only to come back and find one fat, happy king!

Great looking snake and set up. I have heard some say the Albino Ca kings can be a bit nippier than most kings do you find this to be the case?

She wasn't bad up to about a year old, then she became less tolerant about being handled, probably do to the fact that I didn't handle her enough. Then as a three year old she became really less tolerant and skiddish, which I think was do to the fact that she was in gestation and didn't want to be messed with at all, which I had other females (black and whites) that were the same way. All snakes, even of the same breed have a defferent personality.If you want to keep them tame, you have to take the time work with them, especially KINGS.

Do you think perhaps female kings can be a bit more high strung than males or its just a matter of handling?

This is hard for me to say, because I don’t handle my snakes enough, but In my opinion;
I don’t think the female Cal. King are any more skittish or high-strung than the males. I believe It’s all in handling . The more you handle, the tamer they will become. I do believe that California King snakes are a territorial species,and their enclosure is their teritory. If you just start messing around in their enclosure. They will probably try to strike at you. But if you just reach in and grab them, take them out, and start walking around and handling them, letting them crawl threw your hands , hand over hand, without trying to restrain them. They will calm down very quickly. I think walking around distracts them while at the same time. You are calming them down, using your hands. I myself would like to hear other tricks and opinions on this subject from other people, comments would be appreciated.
thank you;

Great looking snake. I know those shows have so many snakes that even when you find what your looking for it takes awhile to decide.
