Bad news

I lost my male eyelash viper over the weekend. Both the yellow females are doing great! They have both eaten and are active. But the guy didn't move around much. Someone had posted earlier that if they stay on the bottom of the cage I'd have problems. Well, I'd only seen him try to climb once, but it was only for a short period of time. I found him dead yesterday morning.
I guess I'll wait before replacing him. The females will still be too young to breed next season anyway. But I sure hated losing him. He was different. Sob Sob

Yikes!! Sorry to hear that mate

I would...just to be on the safe side. Collect stool samples from the females and take it to a DVM to have it checked for parasites. It does not take much stress (like shipping) to give the parasites the upper hand. Don't want to see you post another loss.

Sorry again,

Al

Yeah, I know. Neither of the girls have had a bowel movement yet. I usually do my own fecals. I breed veiled chameleons & bearded dragons on a large scale, so I have the knowledge & meds available.
I still hate losing my male though. He must have had something wrong with him before I got him. Also with the stress of shipping. I really didn't have him long enough to do much with him. He was the one that you said you liked the color of.
