Vic,
Most tropios come from the upper desrt(china, former USSR, and northern africa) They are desert/steppe geckos, so keep them dry with the occasional spray and a small water dish. They can be set-up in colonies as far as im concerened, ive kept as many as 10 in a 10 gallon tank with about 2 inches of sand, and a few scattered rocks and broken clay pots. Temp can be mid 80's and they can handle cold nights, but id keep it in the low 70's to be safe since ya didnt mention what species you are working with. They lay single eggs, which you can incubate on dry sand with a relative humidity of about 80%. They are easy to work with, and a rewarding species. have fun
