What is the Breeding Season?

-JayDog- Nov 22, 2004 03:22 PM

I'm interested in breeding Leos (later then sooner) and was wondering what the breeding season was? What months does it fall in? Also, does anybody have any good links to the actual breeding proccess. I have a basic idea of how it's done, but nothing in depth. I was looking for in depth breeding resources.

Thanks

i have yet to breed my geckos, but his is what i've picked up. i gather that you can get leos to breed year-round. most people don't, as it's a strain on both genders. i *think* the season (mirroring their natural one) begins in spring, but i'd look it up. there are a million resources out there, so i don't have a specific place to check. i'd pick a favorite breeder, and see if they have a page where they describe how they do things (e.g. albey has a page on his setup & incubation). also, a lot of books have sections detailing breeding (it's pretty simple, really), as well as websites that aren't associated with breeders. one thig i do is try and read this forum often. it ends up that you get pretty familiar with standard stuff, and every now and again you run into something really interesting to you specifically (mine special interest is the snow phase! ).
