Heat Packs

purduecg Nov 22, 2004 04:10 PM

Does anyone know where I can find those extended life heat packs that people often ship the reptiles with? Preferably ideas on where they might be locally?

Thanks for your help!

Try Walgreens, K-Mart, Wal Mart, Home Depot (or similar shops) and hunting/fishing stores. I've found them in all these places in the Chicagoland area. By the way, I'm back in Florida with my future husband! I had to pick up a few of these heat packs before we made the trip back home (I was bringing back my snake, lizards and box turtle hatchlings) and Menards had them on sale....lucky me!!! When I lived in the Chicagoland area,I liked to keep a few extra ones on hand in case of a power outage in the Winter.....keeps the critters warm in an emergency! Good luck!

It also a good idea to stock up on some 24 hr heat pads especially if you live in a cold climate. If you loose power from a storm for a couple of days they could keep you uro's warm for a while.
