Can I hibernate my T. Sirtalis at 50 -55 degrees F.?

I have been hibernating Lizards; collareds and Umas in my fridge and would like to put my daughters Pennsylvania garter in a separate gladware tub in there also for about 2 months. I put damp sand in with the lizards . What should i use for the garter? Sphagnum Peatmoss and cypruss mulch mix a little damp sound OK?
