I was just curious as to what most of you feed your uro on a daily basis. I'm trying everything on my list from deerfernfarms and haven't found anything mine likes unless you sit and hand feed him. The more responses the better.

Milo loves dandelion greens (staple), butternut squash ((staple), grapes (treat), strawberries (treat), green beans, How old is your uro? Good luck
Lance
There's nothing I feed on an everyday basis, but lots of things I feed frequently. I'm lucky in that I've never had a fussy eater.
As extra incentives, you can try bee pollen granules sprinkled on a salad (health food store), most any edible flowers, or green peas.
For food item variety, try dandelion greens, collard greens, turnip greens, mustard greens, endive, escarole, kale (small amounts), arugula, watercress, napa cabbage (not a true cabbage), clover, raddichio, parsnip, winter squashes, green beans, figs, raisins, apples, berries, dry lentils, ground dry beans, juvenile iguana pellets, millet seed, wheatberries, etc.
Good luck!

My uro (yoshi) is said to be 8-9 months we have had him for a week and a half now. Yoshi measures 5" from snout to the start of his tail. I have tried collard greens, kale, mustard greens, green beans, and before I knew better I fed him romaine. The only thing I don't understand is he ate the romaine like it was going out of style and now he will not touch any of this other stuff. Guess I just need to keep trying new things. Last week we introduced him to crickets and he loves those but I limit him to once a week.

Have you given him a water dish? Maybe he liked the lettuce because it was juicy. I've had my two Saharans for just over a week. They don't touch collard greens at all, but seem to like dandelion greens and endive (things with a frilly surface). I think the kale smells horrible after the day of heat lamps, so I'm reducing that. They're also getting frozen veggies (I've seen them eat peas and green beans), birdseed, and a water dish. I've seen one eat crickets and I've found half-crickets left in the cage at night. All dishes are removed and cleaned daily.
They're still skittish and one is under-weight according to the vet. What do you guys do to "feed" the kids if they need to eat? These two are still skittish and don't respond when I offer them food in hand.

I feed Buddy collard green, escrole, endives danilion greens, water cress, parsnip, sweet potato, squash, when I find it cactus pad, sometimes lentils and sometimes 1 grape. He does well on this diet.

I also feed my sons iguana the same thing and he is growing like a weed.

I've read on the deerfernfarms website that callard greens should not be feed to uros.
Lance
It doesn't say that.....

a little further down on doug's page it says that kale and collared greens should be limited because they can bind nutrients or cause metabolic problems over time. i would think you could feed them just not everyday.
