Houston weather & other recent events >>

Hello all!!

Way too much rain but so far no malor damage other than soggy soil & overspray in the pen ( plus a few leaks here & there). I reckon I would do better off raising Salamanders & Newts. I check in often but have been tied up lately as my Dad had a " moderate " stroke a couple weeks ago. Any prayers & well wishes will certainly be accepted !!

John Nicholson in "them thair Carolinas"---- did any of those mutts color up one way or the other?

John Scott from Mayberry---i'm glad to see you still have that set up in school! Do you still have any Yarrow Spineys?

Esther-- Glad to see you posting here again!! How is your Spiney Collection going?

Eve--- Don't give anybody ideas about goofing around here----- enough goofyness comes natural so don't add fire to the fire ( FIRE!! HUGGGH HUUUHGG FIRE - says Little Bevis)

John E-- between it being dark when I get home and the latest events I am still tring to nab that big Ol Yarrow Male----- I missed him a month ago & he is really holding a grude!! I think I made him not trust me within 10 ft after that missed swipe at him. BTW--- the female I though was missing was just hiding out!! I saw here a few times & she looks healthy & all. Wierd behavior considering my past experience with Yarrows.

Later from Houston where it is grumbling & starting to rain again!!! Wheres that Noah fella when you need to load up a bunch of lizards!!

LOL Such a rare sight anymore

Hey before I act stupid and goofy, I would like to say I will pray for your Dad, and wish him all the best for a FAST and complete recovery ! Just be there for him!

I know about strokes as my Mom had one when I was 24, and left her paralized on one side. I lived with her, through my first (YOUNG marrage, when I was really STUPID, hahahaha, NOT for staying to help her, but getting married so young. LOL

Get out there first nice day and take some pics for us to enjoy, before everything is washed away !

God Bless you and your Family, may you have a healthy,

Happy Thanksgiving !

David,

Good to hear from you and I'm sorry about your Father in law. Hang in there.

The mutts seem like they may end up looking more redback than redtail. Brown with faint red on back. 2 of the 3 look similar to John E's pics of his boy. I love em though.

Do you remember the second chuck that you sent me many moons ago? Nevada X redback female? She turned out very pretty. Salmon and speckled all over. She is currently in with a one eyed male Redback and dwarf male red tail that is healthy but never really grew much. They are both Tom Greb stock that BJ sent to me 3 years ago. God knows what this mix would produce if I ever kept the eggs.

Take care.

Dave ,
Good to hear from you, the Yarrows gave birth the spring after I got them from you but they died one by one even though they were feeding well and getting real sunlight. About a year later (last year) the adults died also. I would like to get more spinys for my classroom vivarium, perhaps some desert spinys or crevice spinys.BTW Andy Griffith came back to town this year during our annual Andy Griffith Days weekend.
