basking w/ eyes closed question! :-D

aimee_s Nov 23, 2004 02:38 PM

just wondering if it's normal for beardies to bask with their eyes closed. in every picture i've seen, all the beardies are basking with eyes open....

my beardie does keep his eyes open... sometimes he'll have 1 eye lid closed and take a peek at things... or he'll just close his eyes. is that normal?

he's about 3 months old, basking temp around 95F (getting a new bulb after my next class to boost it up to around 100F) and cool end of the tank is around 84F. it's been two days, but has yet to eat anything. stays hydrated b/c i mist him and he licks like crazy. mMmm what else... salad always available and yeah - still getting adjusted to his new home

Pretty normal. My male almost always basks with his eyes closed, while it is fairly mixed with my two females.
