gargoyle breeding.

i read that in order to get gargoyle geckos to breed you have to drop thier temp to a max daytime temp of 65 deg. i live in fla and it is almost 80 degrees now and i cant drop my ambient house temp to 65. its easy to heat a tank up... but to cool it off is much harder. is it nessesary to go this cold? my GGs are about 2 years old so i know they are ready. what about humidity? i know she needs a moist nestbox to lay in but if there isnt one will they not mate at all?
thanks all

You don't need to cool your aurics in order for them to breed. I never have. I have heard that some let them cool to the low high 60's to low 70's, but it's not necessary.

I concur, no temp adjustment necessary. I have found that giving the male flowers and a box of chocolates to present to the female works wonders LOL. Just put them together and they will figure it out. My aurics are not the prolific breeders like my cresteds. So be patient. I would point out that you are going to have a rough time finding eggs in that set up. It is best to make the suitable egg laying places, ones that you can excavate and get to easily. Cannot see why a gek would like a nesting box more than just about anywhere in the cage as you have it arranged.
