I've never heard of anyone keeping 4 males together successfully. If you have 2 hatchlings ( who turn out to be male) and you raise them in the same tank, then there is usually no problem. but males will be very agressive towards each other and on top of that once they shed their tails, they don't grow them back. Why take the risk?

My experience has been that if you house 2 or more males together WITHOUT the presence of females, they usually get along
just fine. I have housed upwards of 5 males with no females together for holding purposes with no problems. Other than the introduction of female animals to the mix, if a male is housed by himself for a period of time, he might react territorially if new males are all of a sudden added to his enclosure. It works best when all the males are placed together at approximately the same time.
On the other hand, if you grow up a group of babies together, and more than one male is present in the company of females, eventually one of the males will snap and attempt to drive off or kill a rival male. I observed this when 2 brothers were raised with a group of 4 females from the day they hatched. They did tear each other's tails off, and one tore up the crest on the back of the head of the other animal. It was quite brutal.
