Hogg Island/longicauda mix

big_dragonfly Nov 23, 2004 11:36 PM

I have a young hogg island/longicauda mix and was wondering what it will look like as an adult. I have looked and looked, but I can't find a single picture. Does anyone here know where I can find a picture(s) of a hogg/longicauda mix?

Thanks,

Jon

never heard of anyboby crossing longicauda with anything. i have seen a photo of what might have been a bci/bcl cross but no body would admit that that was what it was. who produce your cross do you have any photos of it? it's hard to say what it might look like because bcls dont finish changing color till they are three years or more depending on the snake and what color phase it is.

Plus they are great captives, not too difficult to breed.. why cross those out?

she loooks like shes is a hog cross thats for sure but i don't think she has any longicauda blood in her. a head shot would help BcL's are know for their head markings. I would guess that she is a peruvian redtail cross rather than a longicauda cross. the are a number of people that have crossed peruvian redtails to hogs but I havent heard of anyone admiting to cross a longicauda to anything. i think that it has happened but nobody has said that they did it. hope this helps. she could still be a longicauda cross so post a pic in three to four years when she has finshed her color change and we can say for sure.

Sorry for the double post. Anyways, here is another picture of its tail. I was under the impression that longicauda was on the only species that a blackish stripe "covered" the tops of the red spots...which is what mine does.

I traded some tarantulas for the snake at a pet store in vegas. I don't know who the breeders are. I will post pictures later.
