I have read that some people simply put an ice cube on top of the screen and let it drip in for water, are you using any kind of product to make the chlorine dissipate? How harmful is chlorine and what are the side effects?

Dont use ice cubes on top of the cage. The cham most likely will not drink the near freezing water. Get a dripper or something of that nature. As for chlorine, most people dont have problems with it – I guess it depends on the water in your area. Some people let the water sit out overnight in a bucket which will help the chlorine dissipate. Others like myself use water additives to remove the chlorine.

The old "classic" way to provide dripping water was to use ice cubes on the cage top. There are better ways now that we can set up drippers from either IV bag setups from medical supplies or buy dripper systems. You still have to spray the cage, as not all chams drink enough from a dripper and you need higher air humidity in the cage anyway. Check your water for chlorine or chloramines. There are simple aquarium water test kits that will tell you what you have. Setting tap water out overnight in a bucket will work for chlorine but not for chloramine. You can easily treat your sprayer and dripper water to remove this stuff.
