ovulation / preovulation swelling

Hi,

This year will be my first year where U attemt to breed my boas.
At this moment the female looks big, you can easily see a big swelling. I just wander what it is. Could this be the pre ovulation swelling or is she actual ovulating?
Can someone tell me how to distiguish these two and how long a pre ovulation swelling will last?
