Brumination for geckos?

Snakemother Nov 24, 2004 07:45 AM

My fatties and leopards are both off food right now, and just seem to want to sleep. They were eating just fine till recently, and I'm wondering if they sort of bruminate like my beardies do? In Michigan here the season has changed, and my kingsnakes are digging in for the winter, too, like always.
It's not just one or two of my geckos, it's all nine, so should I just keep an eye on them, keep their waterbowls filled and their wet hides moist, and not worry?

Yep, sounds like your right on. A lot of people start experiencing their pets slowing down or not eating, being inactive and so this time of year. Many gecko's like Leo's and AFT's do brumate and when they are not kept in a controlled environment(lights, heat) will go into their hibernation or some confused state. Thats my 2 cents anyhow
