thank you so much, i've been waiting a year now to finally get this second batch, so hopefully she's still got a few more to give me in the next couple of months. as everyone else does, i could REALLY use a female or two since all 3 of my first success story ended up male. anyway, im expecting this to be the result of the two mating that i posted that picture from a while ago. anyway, theres the egg in all its glory, as i promised. its the only one ive seen so far and shes still on the ground and semi-fat, so im expecting another probably tonight. im going out of town but my friend/roommate is keeping a close eye on them for me for the holiday. i havent really been able to judge if the egg is good or not yet, because it was just laid and i havent touched it, but telling by the female's behavior (not to mention the looks of it) im pretty sure its a good one. bah im still freaking out.

my friend called me today to let me know that he found one of my phants dead at the bottom of the enclosure. after questioning him, it seems like it was the female that just laid at least one egg. i wont know anything for sure till tomorrow but this is really turning out to be a bad month for me. i had just gone from a single pair to 3.3, then one of my females died, now another.

Thats really a shame, I hope her one egg she layed hatches for you. Very sorry you have been having a tough time with them lately.

Why do you think they have both died? Have any idea whats happening?

well, i have no idea why the first female died, i only had her for a few days. seems like this one died for some reason, ironically, it seems because she took in a mouthfull of substrate. its very odd because right before i even found out about this i replied to the one threat about consuming substrate saying ive never seen any of my uros have a problem with that. totally caught me by surprise. i just got home to see her right now, i think im gonna open her up if i dont find the 2nd egg. very odd.
