I am no longer able to care for my RES, any ideas?

rockyl Jul 01, 2003 11:41 AM

I am currently living in San Jose, California and in a few weeks, I will be leaving the country to study abroad for two years. Unfortunately, I am not able to find anybody that can take on the commitment to care for my two RES for a whole two years so it seems that my only option will be to give the turtles away.

I know that releasing the turtles into the wild is a terrible idea, so does anybody know of people or places locally that might take my turtles for me? I am willing to throw in all of the equipment that are needed keeping the turtles.

Hi,

I use this a lot in Los Angeles and they have it for other major cities.

I see people needing to find homes for their pets in the 'pets/animals' section.

Can you give some information on the RES?

I live in Union City (near Fremont) and I go to San Jose State University so I might be able to take care of your RES.

How old is it? How long have you kept it... is it healthy - female or male? No sicknesses right?

Hm what kind of stuff do you have for the turtle right now? I'm currently going to buy a 100 gallon tank for my 2 male RES this week hopefully so I might be able to take care of your turtle as well

Hm somethings about me: I've had my turltes since they were babies (got them from NY Chinatown and flew back home with them) and they are both males, ones about 7 inches and the other 5-6. I got them in 1997 so their pretty much adults but their still growing I'm sure.

So if your interested in letting me take care of it, I'd be intersted (depending on your answers I asked earlier). Oh and like I mentioned tell me what you keep him/her

K I'll check back to these boards often or you can e-mail me:
