That's the Big Hill at Sheffield.

You got it Joe. I knew that you would. I have gotten some good sleep up at that rest area, even when other collectors were still catching alterna, LOL. BTW, do you have a pic of that animal around anywhere? I still haven't seen it. If so could you e-mail it to me?
Thanks,
Bryan

I know I am a little late on this, but yes, that is of course correct. Don't go by there much though. Is it really that productive??

I got extremely lucky, finding a ovulating female the first night that I collected there. Found the male at the exact same spot as the female three nights later. Haven't found any alterna there since. It is a bit out of the way for most, I usually make a pass or two on my way out west.

How long ago was that and do you still have them?

bbox Nov 25, 2004 04:33 PM

I collected them in '95. I still have the female, male died two years ago. I have another male from that cut that a friend caught but I have not had any success breeding with the new male.

Thanks for showing us those. Do you have pics of the new male or does he look similar?

Here is the one that I am trying to use now.

I lived in Ozona in 83 and collected Juno mostly but I did try that hill a few times. I found a lepidus and a copperhead but no alterna. That was before anyone had collected one there. I always thought it was a good spot but it was hard at the time to collect the unknown when Juno was the same distance. Glad someone finally caught one there, wish it had been me!
