caging question?? building and need to know if these dimensions are ok

rttlrvenom Nov 24, 2004 05:02 PM

Hello,

im new to this forum and new to cresteds. I mostly keep rat snakes but, i was looking around the past few days on the diffrent forums and saw these guys and thought they were awsome looking so im doing some reasearch and building a set of cages in hopes of getting a pair in the future.

this is what i was thinking cage wise. i read that they should be kept at 1w x 1d x 2h. but i was wondering if i put a ten gallon on its side or it would be 20"t x 12"d x 10"w and secured it in a wood box. basicly the ten gallon would act as a kind of shell and would allow for better humidy and the wood around it would make it look nice. If the size of the ten gallon would only allow for a single crested i could just make seperate cages.

what do you think? any thoughts or suggestions?

thanx

the length and width are to small.

try something like 2' by 1' by 1.5' (LWH).

thanks for the responce. Well i guess ill have to go with plan B for cageing. Ill just have to build a cage and seal it, np it would probably be easier than my orgional idea and look a lot niceer and would give them a lot more room.

thanx again
