I am leaving town for Thanksgiving but will only be gone for a day. I dont have a timer on my light for Yoshi, (my male leo) cage. Should I just leave the light on the whole time or should I leave it off.

Depends on what time you are getting back. If I'm going to be gone until like 12am I leave it off since it's only one day and seince you have a uth. If you are going to get back around 9 ot 10pm then you could leave it on. Of course it would be easy to get a timer but since it's just for a day I'm sure he'll be ok without a light.

I highly recommend you buy a light timer/s for your leopard gecko, even though you said you don't have one.
I bought my two at HomeDepot for around $5$ each, and they work great. I don't have to turn them on, and I don't have to turn them off. It especially nice when I'm away for the night, etc, and they help me over come situations(like your having)... where I'm busy or gone for a couple days.
It was money well spent... I recommend you go out and buy one.

I found someone to take care of him while I'm gone, but thanks for your help. I will buy a timer soon.
next time just go to lowes, you can get a timer for less than 5 bucks, and use it all the time so your leo can get useto specific day light/night hours instead of when you can turn on your lamp
