I use an aborial cage, at least one 130 degree basking spot (more than 1 spot is better), average temperature in the mid 80s, low temperature of around 80, and humidity around 70 to 80 percent. Mine eat crickets and pinky mice. Some of them like to swim while others don't, so make sure it has a big enough water bowl for it to comfortably get in and move around. Empty paper towel tubes make great hides. Place some on the ground in different temperature areas. Hides off the ground will be used also.

These guys hide a lot, but are cool when they are out and are running/climbing around. They do not like to be handled.

I house mine like a dwarf tree monitor, which they really are.

Make sure you don't keep it in an aquarium. They need to be able to climb.

Anyone else have anything to add or change?

There are chameleons, pythons, and monitors in my jungle room.
