Chameleons (as well as most lizards) don't really like to be handled. The more you handle them, the more stressed out they're going to be, so if you wan't to keep them happiest, it is probably better not to handle more than is nesesary.

Hi Sam, glad you inquired before hand. The answer is no. The less handling the better. A few individuals will tolerate it more than another and sometimes when younger they can be OK with it and the keeper is thrilled - until it hits sexual maturity. Big changes and cna do a complete turn around.
Bearded dragons are one of the few lizards that seem to actually like being handled. So if you are set on one to be handled a chameleon is not a good choice.
hope this has helped!

thanks for all your help, i have a beardie but was thinking about another lizard. ii have read that chams are more of a show lizard then lizard that you can handle. thats too bad, they are so cool looking, but i dont thnk that it is the lizard that i am looking for.
thanks again, sam
I commend you for making that decision. Too often folks get one and then want to know how to "tame" it. Good luck in your search!
