Hey Matt what kind of Hypopastel breedings are you going to do this year? At the last IRBA show I went to, I saw some clear nailed animals that were not Hypomelanistic. I had to take a double take because you always see those two traits coming hand in hand. I thought about picking some of those guys up because they came from Red/Golds and thought it would be a good way to increase the Hypopastel Gene pool b/c as is there are only a few places that have been producing Hypopastels for the last few years. What are your plans and what do think? You can send me an email or post what ever you like.

Thanks again,
Randy

Yeah Randy going to be doing a few Hypomelanistic crosses this year if all works out. Actually I just had my first successful breeding of the season WooHoo!! These will be het for hypomelanistic. I plan on introducing my wild type dragon into my hypo lines to help add some strength and some new blood, as well as a Foster & Candy holdback I have eventually. Think adding those genes will add some nice size and vigor to them, as well as some nice coloring. Main goal will be to work for some rescessive high colored hypo oranges/reds. Basically producing hets, and breeding those hets to another stunning hypo X orange het I purchased this season. I think if I can get some hypomelanistic offspring with the saturation of orange/red color, and size of my babies from last season they'd be some smoking hypos. Of course this is a few seasons off, but something I'm loooking foward to if I'm still going.

I would have bought the dragon Randy. Your right it would have been nice to introduce some new blood into your hypo lines.. You know what the granparents were?? With people inventing new names and not keeping any track of linage or passing on that info to customers you really dont know what your getting. I know the nails can pop up here and there, but I hear it's more likely to happen if the dragon was a het or somwhere along the line bred with hypomelanistic dragons. I never seen a regular dragon with the dark pigments and all clear nails myself. Usually only one or two.
