Permits?????

catnipcutie Nov 25, 2004 02:16 PM

Hi everyone. I was told that to exhibit turtles you need a special permit.. ???

Is this true? If it is, any idea what permit it is and how to get one? I have a two headed red ear slider and my local junior high is interested in having me come into their science fair to exhibit them, but if I need a permit I would like to get one.. Please, any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks a lot!

Sorry it took so long to get back to you. I checked the Massachusetts Wildlife web site, and according to it, you need no permit for red ear sliders. You still will want to check for any local ordinances concerning reptiles, though. Hope this helps you. Todd

Thanks a lot Todd. I talked with a Turtle Rescue organization here in MA, and they told me the same thing just yesterday. Thanks a lot for your help. Ses says hi.
