ribbon turning hostile! help.

HerpGirl Jul 01, 2003 01:22 PM

my ribbon went from being skitsy to being okay to hold. he would sit calmly in my hands and i could even take him outside and he wouldnt try to get away! he bit me last week and i have to use a drumstick(lol use wot u have!) just to give him fresh water or fish becuase he lunges at me... trying to bite. the only thing that changed is i got my neew cages done that i built... very nice.. and instead of having them open from the top like the aquarium did , it has a plexiglass front that opens... which i was told was supposed to be less threatening. i pretty much stopped holding him becuase tho it doesnt really hurt when he bites(just stings) im afraid he will hurt his jaw. has this ever happened to anyone else? i have had him a couple of months now.

He could be stressed from the move or he may be to the point that he associates you with food and therefore . . . I'd give it a couple of weeks to get used to the new enclosure, new smells, etc and then see.
